ACTIVITIES AND SUPPORT FOR ALL INVOLVED WITH THROWS IN WA

Held at the WA Athletics Stadium, our training groups are an inclusive and supportive environment catering for athletes of all levels. The group includes talent identified juniors, state champions, national champions and world champions, as well as beginners of all ages. Come down for specialist coaching for Hammer, Shot put, Discus and Javelin. Coaching is under the watchful eye of Head Coach, Lindsey Glass and Assistant Coach Glenn Bartlett, as well as the wealth of talented and experienced throwers.

Training is at your own pace. A training programme can be provided to aid your development, and tailored to your skill level and your goals.

  • Tuesday – 5pm to 6.30pm
  • Thursday – 5pm to 6.30pm

Our coaches and athletes are available to provide specialist coaching clinics across the Throws disciplines of Track and Field. Available for Senior Athletics Clubs, Little Athletics Clubs, Schools and other special interest groups interesting in learning or improving their throwing skills.

This clinic is most suitable for teachers and parents looking to improve their skills as a throws coach and to improve their knowledge of coaching fundamental throwing techniques. The WATC coaching team provide accredited and experienced coaches to participants, with the view to improving grassroots level throwing techniques.

Undertaken in conjunction with the WA Officials Club, the WATC can provide practical training for grassroots level officials to provide insights into officiating the throws disciplines.
